Rev. Eugene E. Pearson is the new Senior Pastor of Olive Branch Community Church in historic Sandy Spring, Maryland, where he serves as the second pastor in the church’s 19-year history. Assuming his role on November 1, 2025, his visionary leadership will guide the church's spiritual growth and community endeavors. He will launch the church’s 20th Anniversary Celebration in 2026.

Reflecting on his philosophy, Pastor Pearson says, “Compassion is the spark; commitment is the flame – together they light the future of our community.”


Pastor Pearson brings over two decades of pastoral experience, having served congregations in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. For the past 17 years, he was the Senior Pastor at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Aldie, Virginia. While in Virginia, he also held leadership positions in the Baptist Ministers Conference of Northern Virginia and Vicinity, the Northern Virginia Baptist Association, and the Baptist General Convention of Virginia.


In addition to his service as Senior Pastor, Pastor Pearson is the Lead Chaplain and Director of Pastoral Care Services at Medstar Montgomery Medical Center located two miles from the church in Olney, Maryland. In this role, he manages On-call Contract Duty Chaplains and Volunteer Community Chaplains and provides pastoral care and counseling services to patients, families and Medstar Montgomery Medical Center associates.

A native of Washington, D.C., Pastor Pearson graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Design from The Catholic University of America and an Associate of Arts degree in Architectural Technology from Montgomery College.


The proud son of the late Rev. Eugene M. Pearson and Betty J. Pearson, Pastor Pearson represents the fourth generation of preachers in his family. A devoted husband to his wife Marietta “Mardy” Pearson, his greatest joys are their two children, son David Michael and daughter Jocelyn Kathleen.
