“Music helps people become close allowing them to express feelings to God both spiritually and physically."

“I joined the Women’s Day Choir the first year it was formed – Sept 27, 2009 at our borrowed home, Oseh Shalom in Laurel Maryland. I have been a part of the Women’s Day Choir each year since that time. I grew up singing in our church choirs and as an adult choir member. With the Women’s Day Choir, I get to spend an awesome time with my fellow sister singers. We have great camaraderie. I know that others feel the positive impact this bonding has created.”

“The Ministry creates fellowship and camaraderie..”

“I've always liked to harmonize my voice with others ever since the second grade in my grandparent's church. My son and I finally visited the Olive Branch Community Church at Oseh Shalom where we heard Sister Gloria Baker, our choir president, singing. I've been blessed to be a part of this choir for over 12 years. I utilize my alto voice for God's glory. Whenever I am singing in church, I invite the Holy Spirit into the service and my voice. My hope is that I will continue to sing for the glory and honor of God and uplift my church family by sharing the gospel through songs in times like these.”

“From the age of six, I have always sung in a choir. Music and song provide invaluable therapy to those who listen, those who hear, and those who sing."

“I joined the Music Ministry because I wanted to be a part of the worship experience."

“I love the Lord and music.”

“I’ve always loved to sing while praising God. We minister to the congregation and as a singer, I am ministered to. The Music Ministry is really an important section of the backbone and heart of Olive Branch.”

“I joined the Music Ministry because I love to sing, fellowship with other singers, and share praises with the congregation. I have been a choir member for more than 30 years.”

“I think songs relay mini sermons that touch souls.”

“Music is the universal language that soothes the soul. Whether in good or bad times, music can change people’s lives.

“I have always been interested in music, but never had the time to pursue my desire to join a choir. Now I am a member of the Music Ministry. This is the perfect venue for self expression. It is a wonderful experience, and I love it.”

“I joined because I love to praise God. I like to sing, and I love the Minister of Music, Brother Scott and the people who sing in the choir. It’s a great family ministry. I’ve been a member for about 8 years. Our congregation knows that we are about God’s business when it comes to singing. People see how the songs impact us. When we sing, the songs are from our hearts.”

“As in the times for our forefathers, the singing of hymns indeed magnifies the praise given to our Lord and Savior. Bring a joyful noise unto the Lord.”

“Ever since I was a child, I’ve always enjoyed the Music Ministry. We lived quite a distance from our church, so we only attended on Sundays. That meant no choir rehearsal for me. I have been a member of the Olive Branch Community Church choir for over 10 years. Songs can make us reflect on the past and look forward. Just think about the songs titled Take Me Back, Change, and Looking for a Miracle. These songs are relevant for the past, present, and future.”

“Folks generally attend a particular church for 1 of 2 reasons…good preaching or good singing, both are complementary to the worship experience. Whatever the attraction, this affords an opportunity to “change lives by creating a community of committed, compassionate believers and disciples for Christ”.
